The film tells the story of Kathir and Arundhati, who are cousins and madly in love with each other since their childhood. After many years of hard work, Kathir returns to his village to marry Arundhati. However, in a twist of fate, Arundhati is forced to kill the village bigwig Rasu Minor, who attempts to rape her. Arundhati is then arrested for the murder and is taken to jail to serve her sentence. The film ends with Kathir and Arundhati getting married upon her return from the prison.
